the motherless mold (2015)
I witness their progress in wonder. Choices are made daily, shaping and forming their bodies and minds. Germs seeding into belief systems. By exploring traditional sculpting techniques I aim to reveal insecurities surrounding parenting; a thing that comes instinctually at times and foreign at others. As I experience the domestic there is barely time to reflect. The time I take for art making means I am not holding, wiping or teaching my children, however, I perform the same actions in the studio. The finished product loses value as time, knowledge and resources are poured into the object.
