For Lygia Clark (2014)
This performance took place in the reference library downtown Toronto. Over my last semester hours were spent in the library with complicated art theory, this direction is one of the main reasons why I decided to go to University. Studying Conceptual art really made me think about how a studio practice may move into the library and I wanted to make a piece that involved studio and theory. Research drew me to Brazilian artist Lygia Clark and with an eye on her Caminhando (Going/Trailing) piece from 1964 I sat inside the pod with my stack of photocopied research material cutting it into a mobius strip paper chain. I spent hours in there, unfortunately I lost the first few hours of footage- damn technology! (November, 2014)
